Financial Care

LifeCare Financial Care provides free, personalised support to people facing financial challenges.

Financial Mentoring

Through our financial mentoring program, we help you manage your financial situation better. Our caring and committed financial care coaches will journey with you in a series of one-to-one sessions, providing you with tools, resources, support and practical assistance.

You will have an initial assessment with a financial care coach who will tailor the coaching to meet your personal needs.

Depending on your situation, the coaching usually runs for 10 sessions, followed by a period of informal support. You can:

Set Goals
Set financial goals and develop a savings plan to manage your finances. Learn how to budget, save, manage spending and control your debt.

Be Supported
Receive support (such as dealing with creditors) and access direct financial assistance in some circumstances.

Improve Wellbeing
Focus on reducing your financial stress and improve your overall wellbeing.

Our financial care coaches are trained in helping people manage their finances. However, they are not financial planners, advisors or counsellors. They will not provide any advice or recommendations on financial products or services.

Money Matters Community

Our Money Matters Community is a place for people in similar circumstances to come together to share, learn and be supported in a friendly and non-judgmental space. There’s a brief presentation on a relevant financial topic, followed by an informal discussion over morning tea. It’s an opportunity to chat in a welcoming environment. Our Financial Care Coaches are also available to talk to you about your financial pressures.

Whether you are going through financial stress right now or are coming through the other side of financial pressure, we invite you to come along and join the conversation or just listen to others.

Financial Assistance

Our Financial Care Programs aim to help you take control of your finances in the long-term. However, we know that short-term needs come up, particularly when faced with an unexpected change in circumstances such as illness, loss of employment and unexpected expenses. Our Financial Assistance program can provide help to meet immediate needs and allow you to focus on your long-term goals.

Before receiving assistance you will need to have an assessment with one of our Financial Care workers who will discuss your specific circumstances. Please contact us to arrange an appointment.
